We'll be baking pizza, working in the garden, and maybe bringing out arts n' crafts before we screen the powerful film, Anthropocene.
Please share this invitation with your networks, and any youth (above age 13) who you think may be interested.
Make sure to RSVP on Eventbrite, as we need to know how much pizza ingredients to get 🍕 🍕
West Oakland Legacy & Leadership Project (WOLLP) is a dynamic visual arts and environmental program through Attitudinal Healing Connection. We support youth in developing powerful, educated voices for social and environmental justice in their communities. Students are able to work side by side with experienced artists, environmentalists, farmers and activists, all who support them in their journeys as young visionaries. Throughout the year we listen to West Oakland elders' stories, dig into our own ancestries, learn urban farming techniques, and take many field trips including environmental conferences and camping trips, all in order to create a deeper connection with our land, its history, and one another.
We work with community partners such as City Slicker Farms and West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project, to make this program possible. These organizations are on the forefront of environmental justice in West Oakland.
WOLLP is held after school twice per week, from 4:00 PM - 6:30 PM on Tuesdays, and 4:00PM - 7:00 PM on Thursdays. WOLLP meets during the school year, and culminates in an overnight camping trip during the summer months. If you are interested, please email email@example.com
